Snyf!

SNYF! stands for Sunday Night Youth Fellowship. It’s an opportunity for young people from age 11 up to meet new friends, have a laugh, enjoy some food and get to know God better through an interactive bible teaching program. Some of our fun activities have included playing the Wii on the big screen, dining at ‘Eddie Rockets’, Bowling in Wicklow and a beach BBQ. We also like to do things for other people and the community. We’ve done a beach clean up and some carol singing in a nursing home.

Have you ever walked the Emmaus Road? That’s what our youth group SNYF have been doing during the past year. It’s an interactive course for learning more about God from the bible. So far we’ve considered God’s reality as Creator, the one who made us and wants to have a relationship with us. We’ve seen how God revealed Himself to us through His Son Jesus Christ who died for our sins and who rose again from the dead. We’ve talked about God the Holy Spirit who comes to live in us, helping us to live for God and produce good fruit in our lives. We’ve thought about communicating with God both by talking to Him and by spending time in quiet just listening. At the moment we’re discovering that the bible is a library of books, all of which are inspired by God and which are all useful for learning more about God and for encouraging us in our lives as Christians.
