What do we believe?
| • | There is One God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit who created the heavens and the earth. |
| • | The bible (Holy Scriptures) is God’s guide to us in our beliefs and practice. |
| • | God made us to be His friends and to enjoy our lives by serving Him and caring for others. |
| • | Despite our best efforts because of our sinful nature we never achieve our own expectations and fall short of God’s standards for living. This means that we are naturally estranged from God (we are not His friends). |
| • | The Good News is that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, was born of the virgin Mary to reconcile us to God (help us to become His friends again). |
| • | Jesus died on the cross, rose again from the dead and ascended back up into heaven where He lives and reigns forever. |
| • | Through these actions Jesus has made a way for us to become friends again with God by releasing us from the guilt and power of sin. |
| • | By acknowledging our sin, believing all that Jesus has done, and accepting Him as King of our lives, God accepts us as his children and gives us the gift of His Holy Spirit. |
| • | Through the Holy Spirit’s help and power we are enabled to enjoy God the way He originally intended. We are also enabled to live in a way that pleases God, brings personal fulfilment and provides benefits to others. |
| • | There is one holy, Catholic (universal) and apostolic Church which is the Body of Christ and is made up of all who truly love, believe in, and serve Jesus Christ. |
| • | The Lord Jesus Christ will return to earth one day. |
| • | The Lord Jesus Christ will one day judge all people. |
| • | Every person who truly loves, believes in and serves the Lord Jesus will one day be resurrected to live forever in heaven. |
